| Description:
The noise gate turns
down the volume when the signal level falls below the threshold level.
It is normally used with hi-gain distortion which tends to amplify the
noise along with the signal from a guitar. The noise isn't that
noticeable when the signal level is high, but it is very noticeable
when there is no signal. So a noise gate is used with it. |
